Here’s what is going to happen in the Pattern Learning Week
What is Surface Pattern Design?
Any design or pattern on hard or soft surface. Right now, if you look around you will see things with a pattern or design on it! It may be a cushion or the clothes you are wearing or the phone cover you are using! A Surface Pattern Designer does this job!
Mark & Import
Here’s where the real magic happens!
You would be able to learn how to bring your doodles into Adobe Illustrator. Remember, you would be learning all in baby steps so no need to freak out! I am sure you are going to have lot of fun with others!
Image Trace & Color
This is where you would be able to bring your doodles to life. I will teach you three different ways to add color to your doodles. This part is so so amazing! You would be surprised for sure!
Create your pattern
A major shift you will see!
Here, you will see the beautiful pattern you will create by yourself. You would learn all by following just some basic steps!
Pattern Learning Week Schedule
Jan 16th: What is Surface Pattern Design? I will go in detail.
Jan 17th: Bring a simple sketch or a few of your doodles, and I'll show you how to bring them into Adobe Illustrator. I've got your back even if you've never opened the program before.
Jan 18th : Ready to add color? In this session, we'll pick up where we left off, turn your sketches into vectors and you'll learn three different ways to add color to them.
Jan 19th: MAGIC - you'll create your first (or next) repeating pattern and then dive into a SNEAK PEEK into The Divine Pattern program!
Jan 20th: IMPLEMENTATION DAY: Keep working on your repeating pattern and take a QUIZ to determine what stage you're in.
Jan 21st: IMPLEMENTATION DAY: Keep working on your repeating pattern and take a QUIZ to determine what stage you're in.
Jan 22nd: Discover the 3 most common mistakes surface designers make and how to fix them.
Jan 23rd: Let's review the entire process for creating your first repeating pattern one last time.
Jan 24th: Final Q&A. Ask Me Anything. The Welcome Celebration for The Divine Pattern students is on Wednesday. You don't want to miss it.

What supplies do you need:
Here's exactly what you need to take full advantage of the Pattern Learning Week:
A computer or a laptop. You can use a Mac computer or a PC computer - either is fine.
Adobe Illustrator, click HERE to get it now or wait when the Pattern Learning Week starts.
A few of your sketches or doodles. Keep it simple! The goal is to get you to the finish line with a repeating pattern that works. Bring 1-3 very simple marks on paper or your doodles or sketches to the training.
A smartphone or a scanner. You'll import one of your sketches by taking a photo of it or by scanning it. Either works just fine.

Thank you so much for showing your interest in the Marks to Making Money {Pattern Learning Week}! Everything starts on Monday, January 16th, and you're in for real, hands-on, practical, step-by-step learning with me.
By the end of the Learning Week, you'll have mastered the basics of how to use Adobe Illustrator to create a repeating pattern from your marks or doodles or sketches.
You'll hear me say this often: Keep it simple! We can get fancy later.
Why, you ask? Because the goal of this Pattern Learning Week is for you to get comfortable inside a program that you've probably never opened before. I've got you, my friend! I opened it for the very first time myself . If I can do it, so can YOU!
If you keep your marks or doodles or sketches simple to start, you'll be able to focus on the steps you must follow to create your repeating pattern correctly.
It's the steps that matter at the beginning. Not the design!
Once you've mastered the steps, Adobe Illustrator becomes another creative tool in your tool box.
